Suffolk Police Department, Suffolk, Virginia

The Suffolk Police Department's Strategic Planning Team was formed in April 2005 to work collaboratively to develop the SPD Strategic Plan for 2006 - 2011.  The team is comprised of volunteers from all levels of the organization including sworn and non-sworn staff and is facilitated by the Criminal Justice Planner for the City of Suffolk.

The Suffolk Police Department is committed to law enforcement excellence and we believe that we will achieve excellence by shaping a police department that is progressive, innovative, and responsive to the needs of our community.  The Suffolk Police Department takes great pride in all of our personnel and is committed to a planning process that is inclusive, realistic, and fair.

Team Purpose

The purpose of the SPD Planning Team is to develop a well-designed strategic plan that represents the goals and objectives of the department from 2006 - 2011.  Using the mission, vision, and values created by the members of the Department, the Planning Team will identify issues and partner with key stakeholders to draft goals and objectives that will effectively guide the future growth and development of the Suffolk Police Department.
